Chuckles and Chortles

Happy new week, friends! How are you all doing? What's up in your area? We are experiencing heat, humidity and a lot of heavy rainfalls. We've even had hail a few times. The weather this summer has been weird and sometimes nasty. In addition to all the above, wildfires in northern Ontario have affected air quality here. Ah, climate change... I can't imagine what it'll be like years from now on this planet.

So...enough of that. Wednesday I spent the day with my daughter in my hometown. I drove over in the morning and picked her up from her place. We went for an early lunch, visited the bookstore and then had some coffee and dessert. I hadn't seen her for ages and you can imagine how thrilled I was to spend that time with her. I went home exhausted from all that socializing, something I'm not used to, but it was a good type of exhaustion!

Aside from that, all else remains the same. The most amazing man in the world and I have work to do outside but we're waiting for the heat and humidity to goooo awaaaaay. We're keeping busy in other ways and biding our time until we can finally get out there.

No, what's up with you? Share in the comments and enjoy all the funny stuff! Have a wonderful week ahead.

  5. Speaking of air quality......this morning we could smell the smoke and see the haziness in the sky. Praying for RAIN for all the provinces needing it.
Nice that you and your daughter had some time together.
We just watched a very funny/absurd/well-acted and very light.....a good break from the dramas...... 2 season series on Netflix......'A.P. Bio'. Being a retired teacher I appreciated it.
Have a great week and I hope this humidity disappears so we all can get back out in the garden.

    1. It seems the weather has been erratic everywhere, Jim. We'll be seeing more and more of this in the future. Our air quality seems to have improved...I think! The days are cooler, so I'm thankful for that. I'm going to check that series out on Netflix. We've wrapped up everything we were watching and we're searching for something new. Thanks!

  7. Your air must be really bad. Ours is even being affected way in the northeast US. I am glad you got to spend some time with your daughter. Great bunch of funnies. I love those big balloons outside car dealerships. I keep telling my family I want one outside my funeral someday ( yes, I am odd). I like the menu one too. Have a wonderful week. XO

    1. HAHA! I love that you'd want a balloon like that outside your funeral. I don't think it's odd. I think it's fun!

    1. Wild fires are so scary, Baili. They are unpredictable and can become very deadly, very quickly. Our weather has cooled off, which I'm grateful for. Not sure how long it will last but I'll enjoy it while it's here. I was so excited to spend the day with my daughter. It had been much too long! I hope you are keeping well and safe.

  10. In South carolina it's hot as hell outside. Guess that's good for keeping Covid-19 down a little but not good enough

Hope you are doing well, Martha. I'm much older now and falling apart but as long as I have my mascara, I'm good. :-)

  13. Love love the funnies - so so clever and creative people are. When you mentioned lunch and bookstore - that brought back so many memories of going to lunch or dinner with my sister when we lived close to each other and then ending up either at a Barnes and Nobles or a metaphysical bookstore of which we had about three favorite ones. Those were the days!! Nice you had that visit with your daughter. Yeah here the weather is strange and different than last summer - but in our area and mountain range, at least, no wildfires. They seem to be mostly up north.

    1. That sounds like a lovely time with your sister, Sandy. I love going to the bookstore. I hardly ever buy anything but I enjoy browsing and just being surrounded by books. As for metaphysical stores, I can't pass one up! I have a favourite here and if I'm visiting another area and spot one, I just have to go in. Even there, I hardly ever buy anything. But it's fun to look around.
