Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday and happy autumn (or spring, depending on where you live)! I lost track of the time and almost missed posting this. I've been working on our photos lately. I'm removing them from those sticky type photo albums and storing them in containers. One of the reasons is that the glue in the albums is degrading and the photos are getting stuck in there. And the other is that I'm streamlining and de-cluttering our home. Getting rid of those oversized photo albums is freeing up shelf space, which is great. The less stuff in the house, the happier I am! The bonus is that the most amazing man in the world is really into this de-cluttering stuff lately and working alongside me to eliminate the excess in our home. How can you not adore him?

Most of the garden is slowly going to sleep but there is still colour because my autumn plants are in full bloom. I was planning to go out this morning to take photos but it was raining. Thankfully, I took this photo a couple of days ago to share with you:

We've been slowing down, as well, but last week we did manage to take a drive to our hometown of Montreal where we spent the day. We even managed to stop in at two of my favourite places before we came home: Ikea and the bookstore. Both places always make me happy.

Yesterday morning I went for another marathon walk with my friend. Once again, we pounded the pavement for three hours. When I got back home, she messaged me to let me know that we had done 23,000 steps and covered 16.85 kilometers (10.47 miles). She's got one of those fitbit gadgets. I answered her that we are rock stars!

Anyhow, that's it for now. It's getting late and it's time to upload this, shut down the computer and watch a movie with the most amazing man in the world. Enjoy the funnies and have a wonderful week.

Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday Tuesday, blogging pals! I'm a day late and a dollar short. I had everything ready to upload yesterday and I just never got around to it. Mostly because I was distracted by other things. So...what's new with you? What are you up to these days? Tell me all about it in the comments.

We had a lovely weekend. Saturday evening we met up with my bestie and her husband at a restaurant about 45 minutes from here. The weather was amazing! We sat outside the entire time and we honestly could have stayed there for hours more if the place hadn't shut down. It was one of those evenings where you just couldn't be more comfortable outdoors. It was neither hot nor cold. It was simply perfect. Might as well squeeze in some fun on days like that because before we know it, winter will be here and we'll end up indoors more often than not. And yesterday morning, I met up with my walking buddy at 7:30 AM and she and I went for a 3 hour stroll! I came home feeling great and spent the next hour in the garden watering and feeding our friendly chipmunk.

Speaking of the garden, below are a couple of photos for you. The first one is Foxglove, which the insects, especially bees, love! And the second one is a daylily that is back in bloom. Oh...here's something exciting! I saw the most beautiful dragonfly in my garden last week. It was HUGE. HUUUUUGE. It looked like a little helicopter. I was really excited about that and regretted not having taken a camera with me outside that day. Ah, well...

And here's my goofball of a cat posing for the camera:

Enough photos for today? I think so, too. Let's get right to the funnies. Enjoy them and enjoy an amazing week!

Chuckles and Chortles

Happy new week, friends! And happy September. I know we're already a few days into this new month but I haven't posted since it began, so here I am. How is everyone doing? What are you up to these days? We've actually had a very quiet week. I didn't even get my marathon walk in yesterday because it was raining. And the weather really turned on us today. I went out to take photos of the garden this morning and it was actually cold. Okay, it wasn't really cold but it was much cooler than what we've been experiencing lately.

Anyhow, I went out to take photos, so I can share with you the highlight of the garden lately: the sunflowers! We have two growing and they are gigantic. They've got to be at least eight feet tall. The bigger one is probably taller than that. The flowers are larger than dinner plates! They're gorgeous and always filled with pollinators. I went out to water yesterday and the flowers were full of bees. Take a look at this spectacular bloom:

And our hydrangea tree, Odin, is switching to his autumn shades. The flowers will deepen in colour as the weeks go by. For a tiny tree, he puts on quite a show.

I have more images to share but I'll save them for next week. I don't have much else to add, so we'll get right to the funny stuff. Enjoy and have an amazing week!
