Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Monday and happy autumn (or spring, depending on where you live)! I lost track of the time and almost missed posting this. I've been working on our photos lately. I'm removing them from those sticky type photo albums and storing them in containers. One of the reasons is that the glue in the albums is degrading and the photos are getting stuck in there. And the other is that I'm streamlining and de-cluttering our home. Getting rid of those oversized photo albums is freeing up shelf space, which is great. The less stuff in the house, the happier I am! The bonus is that the most amazing man in the world is really into this de-cluttering stuff lately and working alongside me to eliminate the excess in our home. How can you not adore him?

Most of the garden is slowly going to sleep but there is still colour because my autumn plants are in full bloom. I was planning to go out this morning to take photos but it was raining. Thankfully, I took this photo a couple of days ago to share with you:

We've been slowing down, as well, but last week we did manage to take a drive to our hometown of Montreal where we spent the day. We even managed to stop in at two of my favourite places before we came home: Ikea and the bookstore. Both places always make me happy.

Yesterday morning I went for another marathon walk with my friend. Once again, we pounded the pavement for three hours. When I got back home, she messaged me to let me know that we had done 23,000 steps and covered 16.85 kilometers (10.47 miles). She's got one of those fitbit gadgets. I answered her that we are rock stars!

Anyhow, that's it for now. It's getting late and it's time to upload this, shut down the computer and watch a movie with the most amazing man in the world. Enjoy the funnies and have a wonderful week.

  1. The crayon baby - LOL!! And the cat licking where it's been touched is so, so true. Gotta get rid of the human cooties :)

If I walked for three hours I wouldn't be able to walk for a day afterward ... my hat's off to you and your friend!

    1. We're walking as long as we can keep walking! Before we know it, the weather will be too cold to do so, and we'll have a long wait until we're able to get to it again in the spring. That's when I hibernate! LOL

  8. I think we all know somebody who should be made to wear pool noodles.

Never had any impulse to touch a cactus. I guess I associate prickly objects with being poisonous.

I used to know somebody who had about a dozen cats. She let them go all over the place, even getting up on the kitchen counter and nibbling on food she was cooking. Disgusting. I guess over time a person's standards erode.

    1. Before we know it, winter will be here, and our gardens will be hibernating. As much as I enjoy catering to mine, I actually look forward to the rest. You should get a cat! There are so many in need of a good home.

  12. Sorry I am so late this week. I wish I could get my hubby on board with decluttering. Sounds like you have a perfect man. Good idea to remove photos from the sticky albums. I did that years ago and now use albums from Century Products that are archival quality to protect them. Great bunch of funnies-love the goats and the cat. :) Have a wonderful week. XO

    1. No need to apologize! You have a lot going on and I don't know how you manage to keep up. I've been meaning to remove those photos from the albums for the longest time but just never got around to it. I'm so pleased that I'm finally motivated to get this done! I hope you are doing well. xo

  13. What great funnies, Martha! It took me a few seconds to get the Biblically wronged cat ~ too funny! I can relate to your photograph project. I've been working through 84 numbered albums, removing photos for the same reasons as you. And then I have unnumbered albums. 😱 I often think of you when I'm looking for something to eliminate and how you feel happier and lighter. It helps me, because it's hard for this packrat to let go. Way to go with 23,0000 steps! I have a Fitbit that motivates me, and I know how hard it is to get 23,000 steps. Enjoy your weekend with your Most Amazing Man in the World.

    1. HAHA! Yes, I do feel happier and lighter when I remove things from the house. Too much clutter makes me feel like I'm suffocating. I like open, airy spaces. I'm enjoying working on the photographs because I'm reminiscing as I go through each album. But it's a lot of hard work! I can say that at least I'm more than halfway through. I try to work on a couple of albums a day, so I don't get overwhelmed, and that seems to work great! Have a wonderful weekend, Louise!

  14. Love your garden flowers the are beautiful! Those old photo albums seemed like a good idea, until 30 years later when you try to get them out! Had family events and we were pulling out photos to scan, what a pain! And I thought I had seen every crafty use of pool noodles on YouTube, but this is a new one! LOL

    1. They did seem like a good idea at the time. But the longer they are in those albums, the harder it is to get them out. It took me forever with some of the albums, but I finally finished. The photos are now safely stored until I decide what to do with them next.

  15. Haha what is about cacti? Every time I see one I want to touch it. I always regret it.
I love all the funnies this week, thanks!
