Chuckles and Chortles
Happy Monday, blogging friends! What's going on with you? Share in the comments below. I'm going to keep this post short and sweet. I've got a busy day lined up and we also have our municipal elections to tend to. We'll be heading out to vote later this morning. When we're done, we'll go out for lunch. A little treat to pat ourselves on the back for being such responsible citizens. *snort* I haven't missed an election for many, many years. It's funny how I wouldn't even show up to vote in my younger years and now I never miss one.
Our weather has been amazing! It's suddenly spring again. Yesterday, my friend and I met up in the morning for another marathon walk of about three hours. We dressed in layers because it was very cool at the beginning of our walk. By the time we finished, we had shed the extra layers and gone home wearing a t-shirt. T-shirt weather this late in October! That's how nice it's been. Hey, I'll take it.
Okay, gotta go. I'm ready for my second cup of coffee, but most importantly, the blue jays have shown up and they're shrieking. They are ready for their morning peanuts. Enjoy the funnies and have a fabulous week!

Kudos you for getting out to vote. Enjoy your celebratory lunch afterwards; it's a great reason to celebrate. There is a touch of irony, at least in my case, that I know very little about our candidates for municipal office while being well informed about provincial and federal politicians. When I vote for offices like my local councillor I confess that I do it without a whole lot of conviction that I voted for the right person.
ReplyDeleteDavid, I can relate to your comments about municipal office and councillors. For the longest time, I was ill-informed about candidates. But since we moved here, I've been paying more attention and doing my homework. This year, in particular, I actually read what each candidate had stated about certain issues. For the first time, I was very informed on their positions about certain matters. It made voting that much more interesting, and I felt like I had chosen the people that truly resonated with me!
DeleteCount Flatula and the witch on the toilet plunger, LOL!
ReplyDeleteI know, right? LOL
DeleteEnjoy the weather! Thanks for the seasonal laughs
ReplyDeleteYou're very welcome, Christine!
DeleteHa, ha I love the "charging Frankenstein" and "Count Flatula."
ReplyDeleteThey're both really funny!
DeletePerfect cartoons for the season. Well found. Always good to get out to vote, and to walk. Both are important activities.
ReplyDeleteYes, indeed! Both are very important activities.
DeleteTook Alex to Halloween at the zoo, pictures arrive 8am tomorrow. Who will we be?
ReplyDeleteI just visited your blog, Adam. Great choice of costumes!
DeleteOur weather is beautiful--supposed to get up to 85 today, but it's not at all humid so it feels great. I confess I haven't always voted in local elections, but I've only missed a national election once. I've already filled in and mailed my ballot for the upcoming election. Voting becomes more and more important as I get older. I fear trump and his followers.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I'm with you, Janie! Voting has become more and more important as time passes. Now I actually learn about the candidates, so I can make a well-informed choice.
Deletehaha the last one ,so true we all are all over in the universe :)
ReplyDeletei agree that it feels so nice when we prove ourselves a good citizen :)
best wishes for the walk and lunch dear Martha ! hugs and blessings
Thank you, Baili. Hugs and blessings to you, as well. It was a lovely lunch and the individuals I voted for actually won!
DeleteKuddos to you on the 3 miles walk. Do you have a step tracker- I would love to know how many steps you got in that day. Great bunch of funnies. Love the mummies. Have a wonderful week. PS: You deserve to go out to eat for voting. :) We have mail in voting, but I think we should get some take out to reward ourselves. XO
ReplyDeleteI don't have a step tracker, but my walking buddy does. She usually lets me know when we're done how many steps we did, but I forgot to ask her this time. In any case, we feel great after our walks. We're getting in as many as we can before it gets too cold to do so! And yes, you should get some take out to reward yourselves after voting! xo
DeleteYou are doing well with your walking ...
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for the funnies, my favourite is the 'charging Frankenstein'
Enjoy these last few October days.
All the best Jan
Thanks, Jan! I hope you enjoyed this last weekend of October!
DeleteWishing you a sweet week! I love the last cartoon.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Wishing you the same.
