Chuckles and Chortles

Happy Tuesday, friends! I hope you're all doing well. What's going on with everyone? What's new in your world? Share in the comments. I'd like to hear all about it. I would've posted yesterday but I just didn't feel like it. I was simply exhausted. It was Mother's Day weekend and it was an extremely social one for us. On Saturday we were in Ottawa. We left from here at 10:30 AM and made our first stop at my younger daughter and her boyfriend's place. She made a delicious French toast bake and we had it with some fruit. After lunch, we played some word games and the kids mopped the floor with us. We can't keep up with these young'uns. It was a wonderful time and it was really nice to them. After we left from there, the most amazing man in the world and I went to some stores to do some shopping - including the bookstore! - and our final stop was at a restaurant for dinner. We got home around 9 PM or thereabouts. There was a message waiting for me from my best friend inviting us over for a BBQ at their place the next day, so off we went to where they live in Quebec on Sunday. We had a fabulous time together like we always do. Good food, lots of laughter, great converstation and amazing company. It was a beautiful weekend in every which way and I'm thankful for it.

I don't have anything else to add right now. We have a lot of outdoor work to do, which we'll get to soon. But not today. We're still in recovery mode and today will be another day of rest. As introverts, we need some quiet time after all that socializing. I will now leave you with some images to make you smile. Enjoy them and have an amazing day!

  4. The Pisa cat is just looking for an edge to push that tower off of. And Poseidon needs to be more generous with cat treats at home so his cat doesn't try to get out -- although it must get plenty of fresh fish anyway.

We're already drowning in dreary, depressing, preachy remakes of classic stories. Please don't give Hollywood any ideas about The Wizard of Oz.

    1. If Hollywood ever visits my tiny little blog, I'll tolerate a remake of The Wizard of Oz! HAHA

  5. Sorry I am so late. I am glad you had a nice Mother's Day. I completely understand about needing down time after socializing even if it was with loved ones. Great bunch of funnies, the thermometer really cracked me up. XO

    1. Spring is always a very busy time for me but I enjoy it. Winters are very long here, so pleasant weather and the ability to spend more time outdoors is very welcome! Blessings and hugs to you, dear friend. I hope you are having a nice week!

  10. As always the pet jokes are so relatable for me esp. the cat ones! Nice to hear you're having some fun getting out and about! It was such a long winter, and it played havoc with our plants and trees. Lots of broken limbs and plants that finally just gave up. Take care and here's to a wonderful summer! Diane

    1. Long and hard winters are hard on our plants and trees. I'm glad that all over and done with, and now we can play in the garden! Let's hope it is indeed a wonderful summer!

Happy to see/read things are moving right along. Oh yes, socializing can be very exhausting. And your cartoons/comics are still the BEST! The first one got me laughing!
We've been busy in the garden for a while now. As you know always something to do there, right!?

    1. It's always a pleasure to see you here, Jim! I totally agree - there's always something to do in the garden. We've been very busy this week - but happily so. We're crossing our fingers that a vacation will happen by the fall season. We desperately need it and something always gets in the way! Hope you and Ron are both doing well.
