Hey Martha, I just noticed your pages or would have commented sooner! You are right when you say Kingston is one of Canada's best kept secrets - it's a great city. I'm quite surprised to read that you enjoy blogging... hehe, who knew?!
I love it here. It's small enough to be quiet, yet big enough to have eveything we need.Yes, no one would guess that I enjoy blogging!
Hi Martha! I couldn't watch Mr. Bean - some copyright thing - but I enjoyed the Johnny Carson quote. There were always fruitcake wars in our family (on my father's side). My grandmother would make a light fruitcake, and her sister would make a dark. For years everyone had to make both kinds so as not to insult either sister. I have to confess, I'm someone who actually loves fruitcake. My nephew just got accepted into Queens for engineering. I'm not sure if he'll actually land there - this is his first acceptance from a batch of applications. He has lived most of his life in Kuwait City and is so longing to get back to Canada, so I'm sure Queens is high on the list. I'm glad to hear that it's a great city. Have a good one!
That happens to me with videos at times. I'm not sure why. And it's a fairly recent experience, so something has changed.I love your story about the fruitcake! And I have to say that I like it, too. A neighbour once gave me fruitcake cookies during a cookie exchange gathering, and they were amazingly good!Queens University is one of the best in the country, so your nephew will be in a great school if he comes here. And Kingston is a beautiful city! We've been here for about 3 1/2 years now, and still keep saying that moving here was the best thing we ever did.

Wow, I visited Kingston when I was visiting my daughter in Canada in June,,,, we went for supper with her friends who lived there. We went early so we could explore the town, and we loved it, especially as we also grew up near another town called Kingston on Thames in Surrey england... so I loved it and was very impressed by its clean ness. and the people.. we had lunch at a texan restaurant by the water.. smashing... so glad I have refound your blog**
That is wonderful! It sounds like you had a great time. This is a beautiful city and I'm in love with it. The best thing we ever did is to move here.
Hi! I found you through a tweet from Gary and his pal, Penny the pawblisher. I do not watch Game of Thrones. I try to avoid becoming interested in TV shows because they take away my movies on DVD watching time. I guess I could watch the TV shows on DVD, but that kind of defeats the purpose of not watching them in the first place. I hope your daughter likes the carrot soup.Love,Janie
Hi, Janie! Nice to see you here. Any friend of Gary's is a friend of mine. Hope to see you here often!
I googled Kingston Ontario and wow it's beautiful downtown.
It really is, Sandy. We frequent it regularly. It's such an enjoyable part of the city.
